Reydon Christmas Lights switch-on event has become a community event. This is the centrepiece of the celebration, as Reydon is lit up with Christmas Lights on Bridgefoot Corner and Jubilee Green, Reydon.

Throughout the year, the Christmas Lights fundraising team work tirelessly to raise the funds needed to Light up Reydon

Traditional Christmas Carols, Wrentham Brass Band, Southwold and Reydon Choral Society and a special visitor will make an appearance.  Blyth Valley Rotary organised the celebration evening,  providing hot refreshments to purchase, which helps fund the evening for the community.

A successful voluntary group, such as Blyth Valley Rotary (thanks to our predecessors and past members), relies on structure, strong community awareness, and a clear understanding of how best to engage volunteers with shared values through strong leadership. Having fun and enjoying what we do is essential. Working as a team is imperative. To be flexible and value each member, with different skill sets and availability. Genuine appreciation helps keep members motivated and friendships grow. We are a not-for-profit organisation, which means we donate all profits to charity and publicise the amount raised.

Congratulations to Rotarian Peter Small, MPHF, for receiving the Paul Harris Sapphire Award! This recognition from Rotary International celebrates individuals who have shown incredible, ongoing dedication to their community and to Rotary. Peter first received his PHF after completing RIBI as District Treasurer. The Sapphire Award is an exciting step up from the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) honour. #paulharrissapphireaward. Peter Small has been a valued member of our organisation, known for his dedicated service as a past RIBI District Treasurer.  Peter has served RIBI for 40 years, an amazing and incredible achievement  . Peter was presented this award at the end of June 2026
